Regional public organization "Descendants of the Fighters for the Independence of Korea" was recreated in Moscow on July 16, 2020 by members of the organization with the same name created in 1995, which was headed for the last 20 years by Valentin Choi until his death in February 2020, the grandson of the hero of the fighting for the Independence of Korea Choi Jae-hyun.
The President of the regional public organization "Descendants of the Fighters for the Independence of Korea" is Alexander Shorukov, and Bella Pak was elected as vice-president.
The main tasks of the organization are to search for descendants of Korean independence fighters who have already received awards from the Republic of Korea, as well as to help the descendants of non-awarded fighters in finding, collecting and sending the necessary documents to present their ancestors-heroes for awards to the Ministry of Veterans and Patriots of the RK, issues of citizenship of the RK for direct descendants of Korean independence fighters (while retaining Russian citizenship), publishing books and albums about Korean patriots, holding conferences and seminars dedicated to the memory of participants of the national liberation movement.
